Alright, so I'm making an enchantment transfer table (basically moves enchantments from an item to a book), and I've got it mostly working except that it doesn't apply the enchantments on the weapon/item to the book. Here is a screenshot of the procedure:

These would be good for non-stable items. However, your mentioning an item that have different NBT on it - its like trying to stack buckets with different liquids - the game and u wouldn't know which specific bucket or book you want to take out of the stack. If you have bunch of Enchanted Books of Mending only, yeh it would work.
