The power lift gate does work from the key fob and from the button up front on the console. The button on the front console is NOT set to the "Off" position, so that should not be the cause. I wonder if there is some other setting that would disable the controls that are on the lift gate.

I put more stuff than I should today in the back of enclave and tried to close the liftgate. I would expect that the liftgate would reverse back if it cannot close completely. It didn't reverse and after some cranking noise, the liftgate assembly is broken.
