Generally a rifle is marked for its intended caliber but then you can use the slightly smaller counterpart on it. I haven’t shot one but a friend of mine does have one and to my knowledge has had no issues and has said before he likes it. I have the Sig 716i. It has run flawlessly for me and I like how it handles.I had posted a couple days ago asking whether I should buy the Ruger SFAR or the Sig 716i and got tons of support mainly leading me to the Sig but I had a couple people recommend the Aero M5. So as the title says what is better. (I attached the link to the aero m5. I have no inclination to build my own rifle)

POF makes innovative stuff that looks very cool. My experience has found that POF quality is sometimes lacking and they don't really stand behind their products. I'd definitely go with the Ruger. The difference between 18" & 16" is probably going to be negligible for hunting/plinking. I wouldn't even worry about it. I would absolutely pay the extra for the Sig. I think those rifles are supremely undervalued and sooner than later they’ll end up at $2k retail. 6 months ago you could find one for $1299 online.
