Ever since I switched from a 2bbl to a 4bbl many years ago, my transmission kickdown on my TH350 in my 1972 has been goofy. Last night, after I had finished up some work I was doing on the car I reattached the throttle cable and the transmission kickdown cable and took the car out for a ride. Step 7: Tighten all of the bolts on the left, right, and rear mounting brackets, leaving the tension set screws for last. Tighten the tension set screws on the side brackets until the side brackets move outwards about 1/8”.
