I wouldn't say people hate on it so much. The general consensus of this subreddit tends to be "play how you want to play." If zombies are able to stand inside each other, then multi-hit is justified. Besides, it's only two for most weapons and three for big ones. It's not like you can smack a whole wall of zombies at once. It allows for aggressive tactics and aggressive deaths. The lower damage over the other short blunts doesn't matter for number of "hits to kill", what matters is that it weights 1kg, so it uses less endurance per hit than the ones that weight 1.5kg. Less endurance used equals more zombies killed before you have to rest.
