The ghost tree cove is honestly amazing. It's completely, 100% safe there, has tons of resources, has an entrance to the lava zone in the far back, is right next to the junction so you can quickly get to every other lost river sub-biome, and has absolutely stunning views. It's probably my favorite base location hands down.

(One with a metal deposit on the southern side of it.) It's the spot where the jungle, Redwoods and Swamp meet, and the grasslands and volcano are just short flight away.
