You can load the Federal Top Gun hull w/ the Federal 20ga wad, Longshot, and 1oz of shot, and it is a book load, with pressure lower than my std 7/8oz reloads.

Perfect everytime now. Note: I liked the 1oz wads but if you have trouble and need more room in the hull, you may have to use 7/8 oz load. Without powder the AAF1 diffidently catches on the base wad lip of the AA20-HS hulls. Sense I have a one ounce load using the Rem SP20 wad I am set and only out $4. Normally for target and most of my bird hunting with the 20 gauge I load STS hulls with Orange Dusters. I prefer Herco in the "Old Style" compression formed AA case and IMR4756 in the STS case.Dove, high volume, small shot, anything over 1300 fps in steel will work. One ounce of #6 or 5 steel is great. Loads with Long Shot or 800X available. Quail and chuckars, less volume shells. Much tougher birds. Need 1400 fps loads of at least #5 steel. That said, you DO need 'hunting' wads v. 'target' wads, and the B&P International is a great wad family for heavy loads. Kent uses that wad family in all their ITM factory-rolls. Prologue done: use Hodgdon Bismuth Data for Federal hulls, but back off a half-grain because the B&P wad is more efficient than the RemChester wads.

Longshot is dirtier burning than the other two but it is a slower burning magnum powder. It was my powder of choice for 1 ounce loads or fast 7/8 ounce loads.The Gualandi designation of the 20 ga. wads does not seem to follow the same method as they seem very short.
