The Vex Strike Force event in the Vex Incursion Zone will drop a new piece of Exotic armor if you have any left to collect, on a knockout list, with no slot limits like Lost Sectors have. If you don’t have any Exotic armor left to collect, it will drop a random Exotic roll.

If my memory serves, the armor exotics every season are tied tot he actual expansion, not the season. Regardless, I wouldn't be surprising if it was just weighted like lost sectors, not actually knockout. Same. It is heavily weighted, but not a 100% chance.

When a public event appears in that area there is a small percentage chance that it will be the vex strike force. On days where terminal overload is in the same area, there will be no strike forces.
