Then I steel wool or sand off any light rust and re-blue those parts. I have repainted the bases with spray paint and they look new.

I just loaded 25 rounds of .410 using the UCB in my very old 600Jr. The powder side of the bar is equipped with a red plastic powder baffle. I used Winchester AAHS hulls, Claybuster CB5050-410HS wads, Winchester 209 primers, and 1/2 oz. of Eagle #9 "magnum" shot. My desired powder charge was 16.5 grains of Hodgdon 110.

Just like the MEC 400 Super Speeder shown below was the predecessor to the Single Stage 600 jr.

Set it re-size to .806 to .807, and you will be just right. That's not much of a change, but it will relieve a lot of stress on the collet. As far as the sizing ring on the 600 jr., just take what it gives and if they fit OK, then no problem. If it isn't sizing enough, then replace the ring. It's cheap.

Find a 20 ga. press in need of some repair or missing bottles for a great deal, you will be much better off than trying to install 20 ga. dies on a 12 ga. press. You should be able to buy a working 600 jr. 20 ga MEC for around $25.00 on the website should you be patient. That's less than the cost of new 20 ga. dies for your old press.

I've been fighting my 600 jr. for a long time. I can't believe I've just been fighting it for as many thousands of shells I've loaded on it. Anyway, the problems all revolve around alignment problems. The main shaft has a ton of wobble. I can wobble the machine a good 1/2" either way.
