I basically "teleport" when sprinting, sometimes latency is so bad game sets up to skydiving then reteleports me back to map, dead this time because player shot me during lag. I've had quite a few laggy servers in multiplayer too. Most commonly my screen will freeze when I come into contact with the opponent and then refresh after they've killed me. Almost like it's a hack. But usually fixes itself after the first few minutes.
