It would be a great change to make an SSR AWD with all the TrailBlazer SS parts. It only adds about 200 pounds and the thing will launch like a slingshot. The 2003 and 2004 SSR both had the 5.3 aluminum 300hp V8 with the 4 speed automatic. A six speed manual was introduced in the 2005 model year along with the LS2 V8. The 5.3 was fine for just cruising but the SSR is around 4700 pounds and comes standard with the 3.73. Part came/R Fixed!! Yes it was the Shift Lock Control Actuator located on the Shift Console. Had to remove seat, windjammer,waterfall, console, side panels to get to the shift actuator. Had to buy the WHOLE shifter, not just …turn on key and I get Unknown Driver. Have no alternator gauge, amp gauge or gas gauge,,, but alternator light on in dash. My amp meter shows alternator charging at 14.8 volts. Everything else works on the truck. This is actually a switch commutateur interruptor gm#15242754 ACD# D1426D (which is the very latest version of the switch - circa August 09).

So, here's the easiest fix. Take out the OEM fan. Buy the after market fan of your choice. I went with the 2670 CFM Zirgo. 14 inch is the proper size. Then, from the 3 wire harness, hook-up the negative from the harness to the negative of the fan. Need grill bow tie for 2005 ssr like new. Call Kent 941-920-3226. Bow tie is available from GM, but it is steep price wise. I suspect there is one available for a more recent or current Chevy truck or SUV that would suffice (fit) and be a lot cheaper. Did not investigate as mine just has a small chip on an edge.
