Top piece of advice I can offer blindly about surf fishing is to use pompano rigs with 1/0 or 2/0 circle hooks if you're not already. 2 or 3 hooks on loops on a leader with a float+/bead above each but the circle hooks are the most important. You can get away without using the beads or floats but you 100% want to use circle hooks.
