Only use VTM4. I suggest a gallon transfer fluid pump, makes life easy. Drop the spare for access to the drain and fill plugs. Fill until the fluid starts trickling out. The drain crush washer is 18mm and fill is 20mm. Drain and fill every 20K thereafter. Transfer case calls for Honda HGO1 GL5 75W-80 Hypoid Gear oil.

I did not do the ATF or the transfer fluid because I had the ATF drained and filled 3 times at 37,000 ...The owners manual has it listed on page 465 (in the 2013 version) under Specifications, sub listing Transfer Assembly Fluid with a volume of 0.45 quarts. My guess is that the additional volume from the shop manual set is for an empty case being installed and the lower volume listed in the owners manual is for a service fluid change.The Honda Hypoid Gear Oil --- 08200-9014 was $22.99.
