The drain at the bottom just didn't feel right. When I changed them last, I checked and thought that it was odd for the drain to not completely tighten. Feb 11, 2019 · I'll have to remove the fuel filter assembly to be able to get at the bolts. What I did was electrically energized the solenoid directly from the battery with a couple jumper wires. It picks up and seems to want to hold, but still no start. I'm assuming the 3 wire solenoid has a "Pick Up" coil and a "Hold In" coil. Put 12v on the white wire,, ground on either of the 2 and PUSH IN on the rod.. if it holds.. put the - on the other and put slight pressure on the rod and see if it snaps in..
